Longoria Wines has been turning out award-winning Santa Barbara County wines since 1982. Drawing on his experience with The Firestone Vineyard and honing his craft at Gainey, Rick Longoria’s understanding of the intricate microclimates found in temperate areas like the Santa Maria Valley allowed him to produce some of the region’s finest Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
The 2006 Longoria Pinot Noir from the famed Bien Nacido Vineyard is no exception. With all the subtle character of a refined Burgundian cousin and a healthy dose of bold California charisma, this hearty Pinot begs to be paired with a rich beef roast or hunk of game meat. Bursting with aromas of black cherries, toasted oak, and a slight cellary must, the complex bouquet carries into a round, chewy texture rich with spice and hints of tobacco.
If you’re looking for a great wine to accompany your holiday meal, a special gift for a friend, or just need an excuse to indulge yourself, give in and find out why some of the top California Central Coast wineries, like Longoria, have blocks of grapes grown at Bien Nacido Vineyards.
